Mechanized Infantry Brigade of the Land Forces' project

The aim of the project is to ensure the development of the capabilities of the Land Forces Mechanized Infantry Brigade. The project will be implemented between 2014 and 2027 in two stages.

In the first stage, the Land Forces Infantry Brigade has been supplied with refurbished Combat Vehicles Reconnaissance (Tracked) (CVR(T)) armored vehicles, while in the second stage, vehicles without major refurbishment will be delivered, with local companies expected to be involved in their maintenance. The introduction of armored vehicles into the NBS has now been completed. As part of Latvia's military support package for Ukraine, nine armored vehicles have already been handed over to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The project also includes the acquisition of other equipment and systems, including weapons, communications, command and control systems, fire control systems, transport, ammunition, as well as the maintenance of armored vehicles and equipment, personnel and training. The necessary infrastructure has also been designed and built.
