The aim of the Defence Industry Advisory Council is to promote dialogue between the defence industry sector and the Ministry of Defence. The Council's organisations are partners who perform the functions of the council and represent the defence industry, promoting the development of the industry and providing support to the industry.

The goal of the association is to strengthen the Latvian defense and security sector by providing the armed forces and state institutions with solutions created in Latvia, of high quality and in line with modern technological standards. At the same time, MilTech promotes industrial growth – it supports exports, investment attraction and the creation of high-value-added jobs in Latvia. MilTech serves as a platform for cooperation between entrepreneurs, state institutions and international partners, promoting innovative solutions in the defense industry.
