Entrepreneur support for the National Guard

Every year, the defence industry leadership organises a survey and honours representatives of companies, municipalities and educational institutions for their support of the National Guard.

The Latvian companies and institutions were selected for the awards after evaluating the answers given by National Guard members in the questionnaires, as well as recommendations from National Guard battalion commanders.

It has already been reported that in December 2017, the Cabinet of Ministers approved an information report prepared by the Ministry of Defence on the development of economic incentives for companies employing National Guards and reserve soldiers to motivate their regular participation in National Guard exercises.

The Ministry of Defence has also started work to raise awareness among businesses of the need to support National Guard and reserve soldiers, and to raise the profile of businesses that support National Guard and reserve soldiers by informing the public about positive examples of cooperation.
