Meetings of the Industry with the Ministry of Defense

As the issue of security in the region and strengthening the security and defense capabilities of the Republic of Latvia develops, an increasing number of local and foreign companies are seeking to present themselves to the Ministry of Defense and the National Armed Forces, either by offering opportunities for cooperation or by demonstrating their products. Therefore, the Ministry of Defence has established a procedure for reviewing incoming applications.

industrija@mod.gov.lv is to be considered the main point of communication between the Ministry of Defence and representatives of the defence industry.

How are applications submitted and evaluated?

1. Each merchant fills out the “Industry application form” form. The form is available in English and Latvian. The merchant may attach presentations, videos or other visual materials to the submitted form.

   ! The Ministry of Defence considers only applications that are submitted as an Industry application form. The merchant will be informed of an incorrectly submitted application.

2. The merchant sends the completed form to the e-mail industrija@mod.gov.lv.  
3. The Ministry of Defence considers and evaluates the submitted applications in cooperation with the competent subordinate institutions.
4. After carefully evaluating the application, the Ministry of Defence informs the merchant:
         A) that the application is not relevant at the time of evaluation, or the project does not aline with the needs;
         B) of their interest in meeting and invites them to agree on a date and time for the meeting.
5. The Ministry usually evaluates and sends a response to the merchant within 10-30 working days, but the deadline specified in the Law on Submissions is generally respected. In cases where there is a large number of applications or the application is complex the evaluation period may be longer.
