Latvia and Denmark will sign a letter of intent on further strengthening cooperation in the field of defense

On 28 and 29 October, His Majesty Kind Frederik X of Denmark and Her Majesty Queen Mary of Denmark will pay a state visit to the Republic of Latvia. During the visit, Minister of Defence Andris Sprūds will take part in several events in Riga and Ādaži, including a bilateral meeting with Danish Minister of Defence Troels Lund Poulsen.

On 28 October, Minister Sprūds will meet with Minister Poulsen to discuss current security issues and future opportunities for strengthening regional defence cooperation. Both ministers will attend the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding during the Danish–Latvian Defence Industry Days, and will deliver remarks highlighting the importance of allied cooperation in advancing innovation and technology development.

On 29 October, Minister Sprūds will join President of Latvia Edgars Rinkēvičs and the Danish Royal Couple during their visit to Ādaži Secondary School, where a National Defence Education class will take place. Later, the delegation will visit the Military Base "Ādaži" to learn about the work of the NATO Multinational Division North (MND-N) headquarters and meet with Danish contingent soldiers. During this part of the visit, both defence ministers will sign a Letter of Intent, outlining the future direction of Latvian-Danish cooperation in the field of defence.

The visit will conclude with a reception hosted by the Kingdom of Denmark, which will also be attended by Minister Sprūds.
